There are times of the year that seem to overflow with great new albums… we’re coming into that time right now. On the heels of Kanye’s Graduation and 50 Cents’ Curtis have come a couple of sophomore efforts from two top British singers: KT Tunstall and James Blunt.
For me, the highlights are new albums from the mighty Fighters of Foo (the beautifully named Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace) and finally, possibly the album of the year (I’m calling it right here), Pull the Pin from the Stereophonics, who are taking a stab at being the greatest rock band in the world today.
Of course I won’t leave you without a taste so here’s the new singles from Stereophonics, It Means Nothing, which was written after the London bombings on July 7th:

Foo Fighter’s Pretender, in true Monkey Wrench video style:

James Blunt’s 1973, with lots of artsy blurry images and emotive staring at the camera:

KT Tunstall, who apparently has learned to dance and wants to show us all (dear, you’re not Nelly Furtado or god forbid, Fergie, and we don’t want you to be):
